About

Going Yard has been in the custom apparel business for over a decade. We offer all the top wholesale lines of garments for promotional and team needs. In the rare cases, where choice of colours or style are not available within Canada, we have a number of American suppliers that usually can fulfill that need.

We think of custom apparel, not as a single practice, but as several interlocking ones. We want you to get a product that suits your budget, on-time, and to meet your short-term and long-terms needs.

As partners, we strive for honesty and clarity. Our first job is to understand the client’s vision and needs, not to present our own. We value timeliness, direct communication and digital prototype mock-ups, as well as the occasional face-to-face meeting over a drink or a meal.

We employ one of the most skilled embroiderers in the city of Ottawa.

We take pride in the work we do. There is a lot of satisfaction that comes from hearing that our customer was thrilled with the work we did for them.

F.A.Q.

Does Going Yard provide the garments?

Yes. Suppliers of Going Yard have apparel specifically designed for the decorating process. Decorating customer supplied apparel is fraught with risk.

Does lead-time impact costs?

Sometimes. For large quantity orders of headwear (288+) that are placed with long lead-time (2-3 months), the cost is greatly reduced to the customer. For sublimated orders, there is usually a 3-4 week turn-around. Sublimated allows for unlimited decoration at a fixed price by garment.

Are there any extra costs for my order?

Going Yard does not charge for quotes, mock-ups, logo design, or art set-up for screen printing.

What is a Digitizing Fee?

For embroidered items, there is digitizing fee ($25-40) to convert any logo or design into a sew file. This is a 1-time fee - but items are not scalable in size, meaning that if you require a different size for the same design, you will need to pay for a second sew file.

Does Going Yard have minimum order quantities?

Yes. Typically, it is cost prohibitive to decorate less than 12 items. Both freight costs and art setup costs make orders, of less than a dozen, overly costly to the customer. Contact to find out about your job minimums.

Do different types of decoration have different fees?

Yes. The lowest cost printing (for large orders) is silk-screen printing. Silk-screen is recommended for 1-2 colour designs. The designs should not be too detailed. If designs are detailed, full colour digital transfers are recommended. For small orders, vinyl printing is the next lowest in cost. The highest cost printing is embroidery - as it is the most time consuming and directly impacted by design size.
